East Meets West

A Western Dragon meets an Eastern Dragon.

This idea popped into my head sometime in 2009 when I realized that Western dragons are very different from Eastern dragons. Western dragons are thick and muscular with large bat-like wings while Eastern dragons are skinny and serpent-like. In folklore, Western dragons are feared for their destructive power and are often depicted as menacing creatures that must be slain by a heroic figure, whereas Eastern dragons are revered for their beauty, strength, and wisdom.

Unfortunately, this piece is not as polished as I would have liked. I was rushing to finish it, because I wanted to enter it in the National Arts Program. The background and the Western dragon were ruined on more than one occasion, and the Eastern dragon kind of blends with the background. X) Still, I hope that everyone can enjoy it regardless. XP
